About Our Child Care Services
At Sitters By The Shore, we provide trusted, high-quality child care services on St. Simons Island. To ensure a smooth experience, we maintain clear policies and transparent pricing. Our goal is to offer safe, reliable support from highly vetted sitters while making every step of the process simple for families.
Registration Requirements
All registered families must have a credit card or Venmo on file before scheduling their first service. This helps us streamline requests and match each family with the most suitable sitter.
Annual Registration Fee
We require a $50 annual registration fee for our sitting services. This fee covers an entire year and can be used by anyone in your household.
Your registration supports our extensive screening and interviewing process. Every sitter completes background checks, reference verification, and credential confirmation. Because of this thorough review, we can confidently match your family with a sitter who meets our high standards for safety, professionalism, and reliability.
Hourly Sitter Fees
Families pay sitters directly at the end of each job by cash or Venmo. Additionally, a $5-per-hour service fee is billed to the credit card on file.
Standard Rates
- One child: $20/hour to sitter + $5/hour service fee
- Two children: $25/hour to sitter + $5/hour service fee
- Three children: $30/hour to sitter + $5/hour service fee
- Four children: $35/hour to sitter + $5/hour service fee
• If you request two sitters: $25/hour per sitter + $5/hour service fee - Five or more children:
• We strongly recommend two sitters for safety.
• If both your family and Sitters By The Shore agree that one sitter is appropriate, the rate follows the structure above + a $5/hour service fee.
There is a three-hour minimum for all sitting jobs. You may return earlier, but sitters are paid for the full three hours.
Overnight Child Care
We offer overnight child care when families need extended support.
- 1–3 children: $100 overnight fee
- 4–6 children: $150 overnight fee
- More than 6 children: Fee determined upon request
The overnight rate begins once all children are asleep. Regular hourly rates resume when the first child wakes up.
Holiday Rates
Holiday child care is billed at double the regular hourly rate plus a $10-per-hour service fee.
Holidays include:
New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. However, due to high demand and sitter scheduling commitments:
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: $50 cancellation fee
- Holiday cancellations: $100 cancellation fee
